Several Good RI Republican Events This Week

200px-RepublicanlogoWe just wanted to let you know of a few local Republican meetings going on this week which you may want to attend.

First, the Rhode Island Republican State Central Committee will be meeting on Tuesday, September 15th at the Varnum Memorial Armory, 6 Main Street, in East Greenwich. Check-in is from 6:30pm to 7:00pm, with the meeting to be called to order at 7:00pm.

Only Delegates or Alternate Delegates can vote on contested issues, although any Republican may attend. We have confirmed that there will NOT be an Executive Committee meeting prior to the general meeting.

Although there will likely be discussion of the new RIGOP Platform, as well as mentions of other Republican happenings coming up in the near future, no votes are scheduled to be taken at this meeting.

Secondly, the Rhode Island Young Republicans will be having their monthly event on Wednesday, September 16th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Ardeo, the new restaurant on Exchange Terrace in Downtown Providence located between RiRa’s Irish Pub and the Capital Grille. The RIYRs are geared towards the 18-40 crowd, but Republicans of any age are invited to attend. These are always fun social events.

The next RIRA meeting will be on Thursday, October 8th.

Site Status Report

undrkunstrukson1The “new” OSR is now largely functional, but we’re not done yet.

We are still working on some background stuff related to the ability for visitors such as yourself to leave comments. The comment preview function is currently not working properly, so just type what you want to type in the first time around and you should be okay.

While you as a human, non-robotic visitor should be able to comment on our posts, you cannot currently “register” to comment. This is actually intentional. We’re trying to see if the comment moderation software will let “unregistered” users comment, without holding their comment in the moderation queue. If it doesn’t let you post your comment immediately, don’t take it the wrong way … we still like you.

We are also in the midst of recreating the “blogroll,” so if you see any obvious omissions, it just means we haven’t gotten around to adding a particular link yet. We’ll get around to it soon enough.
