Michael Steele: Nobel Peace Prize for Awesomeness

BarackChamberlainThe Republican National Committee wasted no time using this one…

I’m sure you’ve heard the news — Barack Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. It’s a stunning, if not truly surprising, indication of just how meaningless a once honorable and respected award has become.

What has President Obama actually accomplished? It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights.

Even the normally fawning media have expressed shock at the clearly political and unmerited award. But the Democrats clearly see it differently, with DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse stating “the Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists — the Taliban and Hamas this morning — in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Like most Americans, the DNC can’t think of one achievement that the president has accomplished, so they resort to their predictable response and standard playbook of demonizing anyone who disagrees with them.

First they call Americans concerned over health care “rabid extremists” and “angry mobs.” Now, when challenged to answer the question of what the president has accomplished, Democrats are lashing out calling Republicans terrorists. That type of political rhetoric is shameful. Continue reading ‘Michael Steele: Nobel Peace Prize for Awesomeness’

RIYRRI Young Republicans:

Our Fall Project is …

“Winning the State Rep. Special Election for MOE GREEN !!!”

And it all begins Saturday morning…

By now you may have heard…There will be a VERY WINNABLE special election held in November for the House Seat representing District 10. The RIGOP candidate is Moe Green, a homicide detective for the Providence Police Department.

A handful of YRs have already volunteered to meet up with Mr. Green (R!) at the Oasis Grill at 10:00am at 220 Broad St in Providence to conduct his first LIT DROP. It shouldn’t take more than two hours for us to drop off his election fliers to all 5000 homes in his District. Then we can all go back to bed.

Note: We will be doing 2 additional lit drops on Oct 24 and Nov 7.

Come out and meet Mr. Green, and help get him into the State House. I Hope to see some of you tomorrow morning!

Coffee and Snacks provided (yes!)

A $50.00 Lesson

PennyTrayThis is the story of a smart politician…

I recently asked my friends’ little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, “If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?”

She replied, “I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.”

Her parents beamed with pride.

“Wow… what a worthy goal.” I told her, “But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn,
pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him
the $50 to use toward food and a new house.”

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, “Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and
you can just pay him the $50?”

I said, “Welcome to the Republican Party.”
Her parents still aren’t speaking to me.

How Long Can Democrats Stand By Charlie Rangel?

DemoRats…Hopefully, as long as possible. We need a good “poster child” for the 2010 election cycle.

“The House ethics committee expanded a sprawling investigation into Rangel Thursday, digging into allegations stemming from an August restatement of his personal finances, in which he under reported hundreds of thousands of dollars in assets. The ethics committee action – which was unanimous — came a day after House Democrats turned back a Republican attempt to force Rangel from his Ways and Means chairmanship while the investigation, now in its second year, is completed. . . . But even if Pelosi relented and asked Rangel to relinquish his gavel, there would be a political firestorm, as she would be moving to oust a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus from a chairmanship he waited nearly four decades to get.”…
