We are looking for volunteers to do “2” things in the near future, to help our GOP candidate win the special election in Providence’s House District 10.
#1 On TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6th (the day of the Democratic primary), we will have volunteers passing out Moe’s campaign flyer to voters AFTER they have finished voting, and are on their way back to their car. Since 70 percent of the voters on Tuesday will vote for a loser in the 7-way primary, we think this will be very effective at getting them to vote for Moe on November 10th.
Moe and Dave Talan will be outside the largest polling place (Adelaide High School) all day. But we need volunteers to help for a few hours at the 3 other major polling places (Roger Williams Park Casino; Kilmartin Plaza; Leviton School Annex).
#2 On SATURDAY morning, OCTOBER 10th, volunteers will do a District-wide lit drop, and deliver flyers to all 5,000 households in the District. We need volunteers to pass out these flyers to a couple of hundred houses that would be assigned to you. (Note: We will be doing 2 additional lit drops later on, October 24 and November 7).
If you can help out with either of these, contact Moe’s campaign manager Dave Talan, for more details on where to meet and what time. Here is Dave’s contact info.

If you are not already familiar with this race, here is some info about it.
Since the 2008 election, a number of taxpayers and Tea Party groups and government reform organizations have become highly energized. On November 10th, we will get our first chance to show that voters are finally ready for some real change.
Maurice “Mo” Green is the Republican candidate for State Representative in House District 10, in the November 10 special election to replace the late Rep. Thomas Slater. District 10 is on the south side of Providence, between Roger Williams Park and the Cranston Street Armory, and between the Cranston line and Trinity Square. It includes the Reservoir Triangle, South Elmwood & West End neighborhoods.
Moe Green, age 44, from Rutherglen Ave., has been a Providence police officer for 20 years (a Detective for 11 years). He has investigated homicides, and worked as an undercover narcotics Detective. He previously worked for 4 years with the city Traffic Engineer’s office.
Moe Green has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Roger Williams University. He is active in sports. He also has spoken to minority youth groups (like the Urban League and the Job Corps) about the inner workings of the criminal justice system.
Moe Green explained why he is running. “I may be ‘green’ at politics, but I am a regular citizen who wants to help our state in a time of need.”
On September 10th, Moe Green signed the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge” in front of Grover Norquist (President of Americans for Tax Reform), who was visiting R.I. The Pledge promises to vote against all tax increases.
Moe Green is one of 11 candidates who have qualified to run. 7 Democrats are competing in the October 6 th Primary. 3 other well-known Democrats filed as Independents, in order to bypass the Primary, and advance to the November 10 election. Green is the only Republican. Nobody from the Moderate Party filed to run. So the final ballot on November 10 will match Mo Green against 4 Democrats, with only a plurality needed to win. Prior to Rep. Slater, the House seat was held by a Republican, the late Rep. Mary Ross, who took advantage of a similar split in the Democratic Party to win election
We have a terrific chance to win this seat, and send a message that Republicans can win anywhere in this state, even in the most unlikely areas.
In the near future, we will E-mail you again, with info on how to help with phone banking, and about Moe’s fundraiser (with big name special guests).
And your campaign donations would be most welcome. Send a check to:
