Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday endorsed Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman over (ACORN loving, Über-RINO) Dede Scozzafava, the Republican Party’s choice(*), in the special election for New York’s 23rd congressional district.
“The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches!…”
In her statement, the GOP’s 2008 vice-presidential nominee sounded a clear anti-party tone.
“Best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine,” Palin wrote. “Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.”…
(*) Since this is a Special Election, there was no primary or caucus to determine the “Republican” nominee in this race. The choice of ultra-liberal RINO, Dede Scozzafava, was made by NY Republican Party leadership. Bad move.
