Today is ‘E-Day’! Come to the EPGOP Fantastic Fall Fundraiser Tonight!

PartyLikeIts1773What a year it’s been for the City of East Providence — and especially for the East Providence GOP! You know what we’ve been up to this year — and so do the powerful special interests who are working hard to stop real change, in order to preserve the status quo which has for so long benefited them. On Thursday, November 5th, the East Providence Republican Party will hold what just may be its biggest and best fundraising event ever. We want YOU to be a part of the excitement!

We know that East Providence will be on the frontlines of the Battle for Rhode Island in 2010. Between now and then, we will be waging an unprecedented effort to raise money, to actively recruit and fully back quality candidates for every state and local office. However, to do that, we will need significant financial support from people who live outside of East Providence. You may say, “Why should I help Republicans in a city that I don’t live in?” The answer: Unlike in Las Vegas, what happens in East Providence isn’t going to stay in East Providence. If we don’t succeed, YOUR city or town will be next.

The members of the East Providence Republican City Committee cordially invite all reform-minded citizens to attend its upcoming “Fantastic Fall Fundraiser,” which will be held on Thursday, November 5th, 2009, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, at 50 Crescent View Avenue in Riverside, from 6:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

The event will feature plenty of catered Heavy Hors d’Oeuvres with a Cash Bar, a great Silent Auction, and “The Very First” 2012 Presidential Straw Poll, as well as a top-notch Speaking Program including:

Governor Donald L. Carcieri
Cranston Mayor Allan Fung
Warwick Mayor Scott Avedesian
East Providence Assistant Mayor Robert Cusack
East Providence School Committee Vice-Chair Steven Santos
R.I. Republican Party Chairman Giovanni Cicione
R.I. Congressional candidate John Loughlin (Dist. 1)
R.I. Congressional candidate Mark Zaccaria (Dist. 2)
R.I. Attorney General candidate Erik Wallin
R.I. Tea Party Founder Colleen Conley
R.I. General Assembly candidate Thomas Clupny (Dist. 62)
… and there might be a few more surprises, too!

Tickets for this great event are affordably priced at only $25.00 per Person or $40.00 per Couple. R.I. Young Republicans may attend for only $15.00. R.I. College Republicans may attend for FREE. Children of any age may attend for FREE with a paying adult. Of course, if it is within your ability to do so, please consider giving an additional personal contribution, up to the state maximum (see below).

To reserve your tickets today, please send your request and personal check to: EPGOP, 66 MERRITT ROAD, RIVERSIDE, RI 02915. NOTE: Since there are only a few days left until the big event, to help us plan for room capacity and food planning better, if you are mailing a check OR if you would prefer to pay at the door, PLEASE E-MAIL US at rsvp [at] epgop [dot] org to let us know that you plan to attend. All tickets will be held at the door. A printable RSVP form can be found on the EPGOP web site at http://epgop.org/rsvp/ . Even if you are unable to attend, we hope that you will consider sending a contribution our way.

For all inquiries or for directions, you may contact EPGOP Chair Bob Carlin at 345-6608 or chair [at] epgop [dot] org or EPGOP Treasurer Will Ricci at treasurer [at] epgop [dot] org .

PS We want to remind you that there will be a Special Election in House District 62 to replace State Rep. Betsy Dennigan, who recently resigned. District 62 includes parts of East Providence and Pawtucket. The Special Election will be held on December 29th, 2009. The Republican candidate for that race is Thomas Clupny of Rumford. Your early support will greatly aid our efforts to win this seat back for the GOP!

We really hope to see you on November 5th (or at least your personal check). Thank you!

Sincerely,

Robert S. Carlin, Jr. – Chairman
Kathy Santos – Vice-Chairwoman
William Ricci, Jr. – Treasurer
Fran Brelsford – Secretary

erik-wallinTo learn more about R.I. Attorney General candidate Erik Wallin, visit his campaign website at http://erikforag.com .

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Eight months after he first emerged as a possible 2010 political contender, Republican defense lawyer Erik B. Wallin, of South Kingstown, put the state Board of Elections on official notice Wednesday that he is raising money to run for attorney general.

A former prosecutor in the criminal division of the attorney general’s office, Wallin created a campaign fundraising committee in February. At the time, however, he left blank the box for candidates to declare the “office being sought.” In his new filing, he left no further doubt about the office he seeks: attorney general…
