Some Photographic Highlights From the East Providence GOP Fundraiser

swimminginmoneyFirst of all, I really want to take the time to thank everyone who attended. The fundraiser was an overwhelming success by any standard. We actually had people drive from as far away as Westerly to attend! It was very uplifting.

I was so busy with other things relative to the fundraiser, I didn’t have a lot of time to take pictures. Thank you to the good folks at Anchor Rising for live-blogging, taking pictures, as well as videotaping the various speakers. The video clips of the various speeches should be available on Anchor Rising shortly. In total, we actually ended up with 12 speakers on the program.

I’ve included a few photographic highlights below with captions.

U.S. Congressional candidate Rep. John Loughlin addresses the capacity crowd at the East Providence GOP Fantastic Fall Fundraiser ... which actually lived up to it's name!

In this photo, you can see that we really packed them in like sardines. We only had seating set-up for 80, and as you can see, every seat was filled, so some people chose to stand around instead.

East Providence Assistant Mayor Bob Cusack welcomed everyone to East Providence. Probably about half the crowd were from outside the city, including quite a few new faces. His talk focused on the big impact that seemingly small changes can make.

Erik Wallin, the Republican candidate for Rhode Island Attorney General, really fired up the crowd. He's definitely been working on his speeches, because this was probably one of his best to date.

A View From Atop the US Capitol of Today’s Rally

ObamaCare1Three busloads of people from Rhode Island went down to Washington, D.C. on Thursday to attend the rally against socialized healthcare at the U.S. Capitol.

After the rally, they and their fellow Americans went to make constituent “house calls” to their respective Representatives and Senators.  Considering that this event was put on with less than a week’s notice, it went amazingly well. Depending on whose estimate you prefer to believe, there were between 20,000 and 50,000 people there for the rally.

Here is some video footage shot from atop the Dome of the United States Capitol, showing the crowd way down below chanting very loudly “Kill the Bill!.”

MOE GREEN – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED THIS WEEKEND

Moe_GreenHelp Republican candidate MOE GREEN win State Rep. Special Election

We are looking for volunteers to help our GOP candidate win the special election in Providence’s House District 10 next Tuesday (November 10).

* On SATURDAY morning NOVEMBER 7, volunteers will do the 3rd and final District-wide lit drop, and deliver flyers to all 5,000 households in the District. We need volunteers to pass out these flyers to a couple of hundred houses that would be assigned to you.

Volunteers will gather at 10:00 A.M. at OASIS GRILL, located at 220 BROAD ST. in Providence. This is directly across the street from Classical High School’s athletic field. It is a block away from Travelers Aid – formerly the YMCA. Anyone coming by freeway would probably take the Broadway exit to Rt. 95 (or the Atwells Ave. exit), and look for the Travelers Aid tower as a landmark.

We expect to have enough volunteers, to have the entire District done by noon. Of course, we will have coffee & snacks in the Grill for the volunteers.

Anyone who needs to reach Dave Talan (Moe’s Campaign Manager) on Saturday should call his phone, 401-862-7519 (cell) 401-941-3662 (home) E-mail is davetalan [at] aol [dot] com

We are still putting together plans for election day on Tuesday. We know we will need people to be in front of the 4 key polling places, holding up Moe’s signs. And there will be last-minute reminder phone calls to favorable voters.

We are hoping to have a motorcade throughout the District on Sunday afternoon. We are looking for someone with a sound system; someone with a truck to put Moe’s signs on; and someone with a convertible that Moe can ride in.

On Saturday, once we get everybody out on the lit drop (probably around noon), Moe needs to ring doorbells in some key areas we have not covered yet. We need some “bird-dogs” to ring doorbells ahead of us, to have people ready for Moe, and to leave pre-signed flyers at houses where nobody is home.
