And the Winner of ‘Best Use of Sheep in a Political Ad’ Goes To…

…Carly Fiorina’s campaign for U.S. Senate in California.

They posted an “unconventional” 3-1/2 minute web video on Wednesday which featured a frightening (demonic?) sheep with glowing red eyes, intended to mock her primary election rival Tom Campbell’s fiscal conservative credentials.

She also introduced a new acronym into the political lexicon: FCINO*
(Fiscal Conservative In Name Only)

If her intent was to get people talking about her campaign and the ad, as well as to get free cable news and blog media exposure, she obviously achieved both goals in spades. Whether or not it is actually an effective ad remains to be seen. It is weird, but will it actually work? The California primary is June 8th.

The ad was released on http://www.fcino.com .
