The National Republican Congressional Committee released internal polling Friday afternoon that showed the race between Providence Mayor David Cicilline (D) and state Rep. John Loughlin (R) effectively tied…
Among those most likely to vote, Loughlin was ahead 45 percent to 41 percent, according to pollster Gene Ulm, who said the margin of error for this groups exceeds 6 points.

WHY WON’T OBAMA ENDORSE CAPRIO?
With President Obama set to come to Rhode Island on Monday to shore up the faltering campaign of leftist Providence Mayor, David Cicilline, there has been quite a buzz in political circles as to why the President hasn’t endorsed his Party’s candidate for Governor.
RIGOP Chairman Giovanni Cicione today asks the Rhode Island Democratic Party the following questions:
Is Obama rewarding Lincoln Chafee, who endorsed the President’s candidacy (while snubbing John McCain who was in Rhode Island the day Chafee announced his support for Obama), by staying out of the race?
Is Obama considering endorsing Chafee as a punishment for Caprio’s dalliances earlier this year with the Republican Party?
Has Caprio asked the President NOT to endorse him because he is trying to look like a responsible conservative instead of a tax hiking liberal?
Will Caprio be campaigning with the President on Monday, standing arm and arm with his Party’s leader and with David Cicilline?
Does Frank Caprio support Obama’s massive spending binge?

RNC Chairman, Michael Steele to Headline Fundraising Event and Victory Rally in Support of RI Republican Candidates
Warwick – RI Republican Party Chairman Giovanni Cicione today announced that RNC Chairman Michael Steele will again visit Rhode Island on October 24 and 25, 2010 to support the RI GOP and Republican candidates for local, state and federal offices. Chairman Steele will be the special guest at a party unity event to be held on Sunday, October 24th in Portsmouth. On Monday, Chairman Steele and the RNC’s Fire Pelosi Bus Tour will hold a Victory Rally at the headquarters of the RI Republican Party. The Victory Rally, which will be open to the public, will begin at 9:30 am on Monday October 25th at the Headquarters of the RI Republican Party, located at 1800 Post Road, in Warwick and all Rhode Islanders are welcome to come and voice their support for common sense solutions in Washington.

Prior to Election Day, the RNC’s Fire Pelosi Bus Tour will have visited all forty eight states in the Continental U.S. The mission of the bus tour is to get-out-the-vote for Republican candidates in key districts, energize supporters heading into the final days of the election, and bring the Republican message of fiscal responsibility and limited government directly to the voters. The bus is emblazoned with the simple phrase, “Need a Job? Fire Pelosi!”
“The failed policies coming out of Washington, DC perpetuate the high unemployment, skyrocketing debt, and an unprecedented expansion of the federal government that are creating economic uncertainty, preventing job growth and bankrupting our future,” continued Cicione. “The Fire Pelosi Bus Tour will highlight for Rhode Island voters the commonsense alternatives offered by Republican candidates. Throughout its journey, the Tour has focused on reaching grassroots supporters and volunteers who are excited about this election and want to put America back on the right track.

According to the Obama Administration’s own projections, unemployment should now be at roughly seven percent on account of the ‘stimulus,’ but instead it now stands at 9.6 percent. In fact, unemployment is higher than the Obama Administration said it would be if we had not passed the ‘stimulus’ at all.
