RI Tea Party Asks Mr. Kilmartin to Name the Millionaires
On October 26th, Peter Kilmartin’s campaign published a press release criticizing Erik Wallin for being endorsed by the People’s PAC of the RI Tea Party.
In response, Colleen Conley from the RI Tea Party states that Peter Kilmartin must be doing badly in the polls. Why else would he stoop to such baseless name-calling of the biggest, cleanest, grass-roots citizens’ movement in over a century? Does he feel threatened by a few thousand ordinary citizens? The statements in his press release are an insult to the intelligence of Rhode Islanders.
Of course, to Mr. Kilmartin, the consummate insider politician, restoring our state’s government to fiscal responsibility and making it accountable to the citizens would seem like a radical, right-wing policy. It is true that the RI Tea Party is extremely opposed to the political machine that has dominated our state for decades and driven Rhode Island to the brink of bankruptcy.
It is true that the Tea Party wants to reduce taxes for everyone who pays, including millionaires, as well as for small businesses, sole proprietors, farmers, and wage earners throughout the state (and the nation, too).
It’s a necessary step towards restoring health to our economy by encouraging people to succeed in their careers and businesses and create new jobs.
Since you raised the point, Mr. Kilmartin, could you please produce a list of the millionaires in the RI Tea Party, together with a list of the millionaires in the General Assembly?
The RI Tea Party also wants to reverse the intrusive domination of the state government of nearly every aspect of our local affairs. Your property taxes are so high, and rising, largely due to the mandates forced on our municipalities and school districts by the Democrats in the General Assembly, on behalf of the special interests that sponsor them.
The political machine that has driven Rhode Island into the ditch is desperate to have Mr. Kilmartin as Attorney General. As we have seen with the present Attorney General’s administration over the past eight years, the machine needs a “friend” who will refuse to investigate or prosecute official corruption. Mr. Kilmartin has been a loyal cog in that machine for years.
The Tea Party believes that Rhode Island can have honest government that truly represents our state’s hard-working citizens. All we have to do is vote for the candidates who will represent us, and keep the machine politicians away from powerful posts
