Statement from Mayor Fung on Misleading Chafee Mailer

FUNG STATEMENT ON LINCOLN GROUP POLITICAL MAILER

Mayor Allan Fung today expressed his extreme disappointment with the misleading political mailer distributed by the Lincoln Group to Cranston residents. This mailer caused some residents to believe that Mayor Fung had implicitly endorsed Lincoln Chafee for Governor.

“I endorsed Republican John Robitaille several weeks ago and he has my continued support,” stated Fung. “I strongly feel that he’s the best candidate to lead our state through these difficult fiscal times. It is unfortunate that the Lincoln Group feels a need to resort to misrepresentations for political gain.”

“I’ll be joining John tomorrow at 3:30pm at Taco Manufacturing in Cranston as a show of my support for his candidacy for Governor.”

RI Governors Race a Virtual Tie

Friends,

With only a week left until the election we need your help more than ever. I am in a virtual three-way tie against my opponents and I need the help of our volunteer base to pull me across the finish line. As our opponents continue to make personal attacks against each other and national political figures, I am sticking to my message of cutting taxes, reducing spending and creating jobs. Rhode Island doesn’t need gimmicks or promises from career politicians, what we need are results.

I promise you that I will continue to fight the good fight and show Rhode Islanders that I am the only candidate who can turn Rhode Island around. I am NOT running for Governor for the recognition or to fulfill a legacy. Rhode Island needs strong leadership more than ever and I have proven time and time again that I can handle the responsibilities that come with the position.

When elected I will be your lobbyist. I do not owe any favors to special interest groups or career politicians. Rhode Island continues to decline because of the policies enacted by my opponents. They have been part of the system for years and their decisions continue to hurt Rhode Island.

With your help we will win next week. Make sure to get out and vote on November 2nd. Tell your friends, neighbors and coworkers that every vote will count in this election. If you are interested in helping please call the campaign office and ask for Brian. Any amount of time you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Onward to Victory,

John Robitaille

RI Tea Party: Mr. Kilmartin, Show Us the Millionaires

RI Tea Party Asks Mr. Kilmartin to Name the Millionaires

On October 26th, Peter Kilmartin’s campaign published a press release criticizing Erik Wallin for being endorsed by the People’s PAC of the RI Tea Party.

In response, Colleen Conley from the RI Tea Party states that Peter Kilmartin must be doing badly in the polls. Why else would he stoop to such baseless name-calling of the biggest, cleanest, grass-roots citizens’ movement in over a century? Does he feel threatened by a few thousand ordinary citizens? The statements in his press release are an insult to the intelligence of Rhode Islanders.

Of course, to Mr. Kilmartin, the consummate insider politician, restoring our state’s government to fiscal responsibility and making it accountable to the citizens would seem like a radical, right-wing policy. It is true that the RI Tea Party is extremely opposed to the political machine that has dominated our state for decades and driven Rhode Island to the brink of bankruptcy.

It is true that the Tea Party wants to reduce taxes for everyone who pays, including millionaires, as well as for small businesses, sole proprietors, farmers, and wage earners throughout the state (and the nation, too).

It’s a necessary step towards restoring health to our economy by encouraging people to succeed in their careers and businesses and create new jobs.

Since you raised the point, Mr. Kilmartin, could you please produce a list of the millionaires in the RI Tea Party, together with a list of the millionaires in the General Assembly?

The RI Tea Party also wants to reverse the intrusive domination of the state government of nearly every aspect of our local affairs. Your property taxes are so high, and rising, largely due to the mandates forced on our municipalities and school districts by the Democrats in the General Assembly, on behalf of the special interests that sponsor them.

The political machine that has driven Rhode Island into the ditch is desperate to have Mr. Kilmartin as Attorney General. As we have seen with the present Attorney General’s administration over the past eight years, the machine needs a “friend” who will refuse to investigate or prosecute official corruption. Mr. Kilmartin has been a loyal cog in that machine for years.

The Tea Party believes that Rhode Island can have honest government that truly represents our state’s hard-working citizens. All we have to do is vote for the candidates who will represent us, and keep the machine politicians away from powerful posts

NRCC: Poll Shows Competitive First District Race

The National Republican Congressional Committee released internal polling Friday afternoon that showed the race between Providence Mayor David Cicilline (D) and state Rep. John Loughlin (R) effectively tied…

Among those most likely to vote, Loughlin was ahead 45 percent to 41 percent, according to pollster Gene Ulm, who said the margin of error for this groups exceeds 6 points.

“The message is starting to take hold,” said an excited Loughlin in an interview. “We’re seeing the undecided voters starting to break in our direction.”…
